Dans certaines polyneuropathies, les principaux nerfs touch\u00e9s sont les nerfs sensitifs, dans d&rsquo;autres les nerfs du mouvement ou les deux. <\/p>\n<p><strong>L\u2019\u00e9rythrodysesth\u00e9sie palmo-plantaire<\/strong>, \u00e9galement appel\u00e9e <strong>syndrome main-pied<\/strong>, est un effet secondaire qui peut survenir avec diff\u00e9rents types de chimioth\u00e9rapies ou m\u00e9dicaments de th\u00e9rapie biologiques utilis\u00e9s pour traiter le cancer<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s l\u2019administration de la chimioth\u00e9rapie, de petites quantit\u00e9s de m\u00e9dicament s\u2019\u00e9chappent de tr\u00e8s petits vaisseaux sanguins, appel\u00e9s capillaires, dans la paume des mains et la plante des pieds. L\u2019exposition des mains et des pieds \u00e0 la chaleur et les frottements sur la paume des mains et la plante des pieds augmentent la quantit\u00e9 de m\u00e9dicament dans les vaisseaux capillaires et augmentent la quantit\u00e9 de m\u00e9dicament qui s\u2019\u00e9chappe. Suite \u00e0 cette \u00ab fuite \u00bb de m\u00e9dicament, on observe que la peau des paumes des mains et des plantes des pieds p\u00e8le, devient plus rouge et plus sensible. La rougeur, \u00e9galement appel\u00e9e \u00e9ryth\u00e8me palmo-plantaire, ressemble \u00e0 un coup de soleil. Les zones touch\u00e9es peuvent devenir s\u00e8ches et peler, avec l\u2019apparition d\u2019une sensation d\u2019engourdissement ou de picotement. Le syndrome main-pied peut \u00eatre inconfortable et peut entraver la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 effectuer des activit\u00e9s Sans impact sur la vie quotidienne.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Degr\u00e9 2<\/strong> : rougeur, ampoules, crevasses, gonflement, douleur. Ces conseils doivent \u00eatre suivis \u00e0 partir d\u2019une semaine apr\u00e8s la perfusion et autant que possible durant la prise de m\u00e9dicaments oraux tels que la cap\u00e9citabine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10 conseils pr\u00e9ventifs pour vos patients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00c9vitez toute exposition de longue dur\u00e9e des mains et des pieds \u00e0 l\u2019eau chaude comme l\u2019eau de la vaisselle, les longues douches ou les bains prolong\u00e9s.<\/li>\n<li>Les douches courtes \u00e0 l\u2019eau ti\u00e8de r\u00e9duisent l\u2019exposition au m\u00e9dicament de la plante des pieds.<\/li>\n<li>Ne portez pas de gants de vaisselle car le caoutchouc conserve la chaleur sur les paumes de vos mains.<\/li>\n<li>\u00c9vitez, de mani\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, toute pression trop importante exerc\u00e9e sur la paume des mains et la plante des pieds.<\/li>\n<li>\u00c9vitez le jogging, l\u2019a\u00e9robic, les exercices de musculation, les sauts et les longues promenades.<\/li>\n<li>\u00c9vitez \u00e9galement d\u2019utiliser des outils de jardinage, des outils m\u00e9nagers tels que des tournevis et d\u2019effectuer des t\u00e2ches qui impliquent une pression des mains sur une surface dure.<\/li>\n<li>L\u2019utilisation de couteaux pour couper la nourriture peut \u00e9galement occasionner une pression et un frottement trop importants sur les paumes des mains.<\/li>\n<li>Refroidissement : le froid peut soulager temporairement la douleur et la sensibilit\u00e9. Placer la paume des mains ou la plante des pieds sur une compresse de glace (ou un sac de petits pois surgel\u00e9s) peut \u00eatre tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9able. Utilisez la compresse en alternant toutes les 15-20 minutes.  <\/li>\n<li>Cr\u00e8mes et lotions : en cas de frottement, \u00e9vitez d\u2019appliquer des cr\u00e8mes sur les paumes de vos mains, bien qu\u2019il soit tr\u00e8s important de garder ces zones humides entre les traitements.
